That is not about your chance of making a good hand — it is about the dealer’s chance of busting. A dealer showing a 5 or 6 busts more than four times in ten, so you refuse to bust first and let them.

Always split aces and eights. Never split tens or fives. Split 2s, 3s and 7s against a dealer 2 through 7; split 6s against 2 through 6; split 9s against everything except 7, 10 and ace. Eights are the one people resist — sixteen is the worst hand in blackjack, and two hands starting at eight lose far less than one hand of sixteen.

8. Cards are dealt from a 8-deck shoe and reshuffled when the cut card comes out, at about 75% of the way through.

Is the shuffle rigged? Does it react to how I bet?

Every session runs from a deal number shown in the Session panel, and the whole shoe order is fixed by that number before a single card comes out — the same number always produces the same shoes, in the same order, on any device. Nothing about your bet is an input. There is also nothing to gain: no accounts, no chip sales, nothing to sell you.

Yes, and the table gives you what you need — the decks remaining are shown while you play. Counting works in a shoe game because the cards are not replaced, and the game does not fight it. It will not make you money here, since the chips are not real, but it is a good place to practise.

You lose. The player acts first, so a player bust is settled before the dealer draws at all — and if nobody at the table is still live, the dealer does not draw. That single rule is where essentially all of the house edge comes from; without it blackjack would favour the player.
